The Long Arm Crunch – A Great Abdominal Strengthening Exercise

Another excellent abdominal exercise is the long arm crunch, which isolates the upper portion of your abdominal very effectively.

It’s really easy to do…

Strengthening

  • Lie down on a gym mat on your back with your knees bent at 45 degrees, and feet flat.
  • Stretch your arms out above and behind your head and hold your hands together
  • Tense your abs and lift up your shoulders off the floor
  • Pause and hold for a few seconds before returning to the start position
  • Try and do 3 sets of 12-15 reps.

If you really want to power up this exercise, you can use a weight, and perform weighted long arm crunches. You’ll probably have to build up towards doing these, but they are great for really giving your abs that boost…
