I’ve got a bone to pick today.

It’s one of the reason why I set up this website. It cracks open a few truths you must know if you really want to lose weight and burn fat.

It’s about the big pharmaceutical companies that happily spread lies, half-truths and false promises in the fat burning, weight loss market. It’s about the so called doctors that pimp fad diets, fat loss ‘patches’ and colon cleanse gear for fat loss. It’s ridiculous and it must stop.

Here’s what’s got me “riled” up:

  1. False promises
  2. False hopes
  3. False cures – the quick fix solutions

These are the BIG 3, but I could think of many more.

Let’s look at each one.

False promises

Ever since weight loss became a big market, companies have cashed in using false promises. “Lose 10 pounds a day, without exercise, eating whatever you want”, they chime. It’s B.S. and it leads you and me in to believing that it can be done, when in reality it can’t.

False Hope

False promise lead to false hope, you put your faith in the promises, you believe them, you hope that ‘this’ solution will be the final wonder cure that does the job. And when it doesn’t, these companies use clever marketing tricks to make you jump onto the next bandwagon. Tapping into one of life’s most powerful emotions – hope.

False cures – the quick fix solutions

These are the products they trick you into buying. They rarely work. Most often they’re unproven, un-tested and often downright dangerous.

It’s Not Your Fault!

These guys use clever marketing, false results, fake testimonials and a load of other bag of tricks to get you to buy their gear.

You’ve been conditioned into thinking “quicker, faster, NOW”. We live in society that wants result instantly – the instant gratification culture.These drug companies and unscrupulous marketers have taken advantage of this trend – without you realising.

Fact is, getting a great body, burning fat or losing weight doesn’t happen overnight without effort, despite what their clever marketing campaigns will have you believe.

And the big thing is, 99.9% of the time, they all miss out the most important 3 fundamentals required for turning your body into a fat burning furnace.

I mean when did anyone really ever believe that popping a diet pill, eating fast food will really cause your body to burn fat?

Be honest. The marketing execs tricked everyone on this one!

The same with the colon cleanse type products, that lead you to believe by taking their products, you’ll lose weight. They’ve pulled the wool over your eyes.

FTC To The Rescue

Fortunately the FTC is getting more poweful, wild claims and fraudsters are not going unpunished. Guys are getting jail time. But the problem is still big. They now use expensive laywers, with strong worded disclaimers to avoid truble.

You are still a target for these snake oil salesman.

Reality check.

Go back 80 years and almost everyone was at a healthy weight, obesity was rare. Yes people worked hard, did lots of manual labour and ate normal locally grow nutritious food.

Did they need magic diet pills, the secret colon cleanse, or stupid diets that always make you put weight back on afterwards…?

NO…

You see. If you read carefully, back in those days they did 3 things which we’ve forgotten about ever since the marketing hounds were let off their leashes.

Did you spot them?

Lots of manual labour and hard work- today you’ve got to exercise because most people work sat in front of a computer. Think yourself lucky. I’d much rather have to spend 30 minutes down the gym than 12 hours a day laying railway tracks or building a road! Get to the gym, do cardio and resistance training – I promise persevere for 3 months and you’ll be astonished with your results.

They ate healthy, naturally grown food - you don’t have to go organic or anything. Just eat food that isn’t pre-processed to oblivion, it destroys most of the nutrients. Buy fresh food, learn to cook properly (sticking a ready meal into the microwave isn’t cooking) and you can be rewarded with healthy, great tasting food for life.

Believe me. If you just followed the guidance in the two points above, if you just build them into your life so that they become a part of you, YOU WILL have a wonderful, fit, healthy body.

You will have to work hard.

It won’t be easy.
